Utah Chapter President’s Message November 2021
Dear Utah Chapter NIGP Members,
I can’t believe that 2021 is winding down and we will soon be celebrating a new year. We hope you have many opportunities to spend time and make memories with friends and family.
We are excited to see many of you at our November 18th chapter meeting. We are thrilled to begin in person meetings with you again, but will have the virtual option still available for those that can’t make it. This will be our election meeting, and appreciate your votes and support for those that are running. Our candidates this year are:
Vice President: Solomon Kingston- State Purchasing
Board Member: David Bundy- Davis School District
Secretary: Camille Clarke- Utah State Board of Education
A huge “Thank You” to these individuals for their willingness to serve on the Board. Every position is critical to our success as a chapter. We plan to conduct the voting virtually, similar to last year, to make it easier to count your votes since we have a hybrid meeting. Voting will be open during the meeting, so please be prepared to vote on your electronic device or we will try to have a few devices set up for voting. We will have Bill Munch, our chapter ambassador from the National Institute join us and telling us about updates to the Pathways program. Alisa Bown will also be speaking to us on Crucial Conversations. We have several awards that will be presented as well as lunch for those attending in person. If you plan to attend in person, please go to the chapter website at https://nigputah.org/ and register by Monday, November 8th with your lunch selection so that we can order the food. Those attending virtually can register until the day of the meeting.
We will also have sign up sheets at the chapter meeting for anyone that is interested in participating on a committee. We are also looking for volunteers to help us on the day of the Reverse Trade Show on May 19, 2022. If you would be willing to help us for a portion of the day, please let me know. We would love to have you join us on a chapter committee or for one of our events!
As we approach the holidays, we hope you will help us help those in our community in need. We will be sending information on how to donate to the Utah Food Bank in this newsletter. Please consider giving a donation to help those around us have a happy holiday season.
We hope to see many of you on the 18th, and will miss seeing our friends attending virtually, however we are grateful to have the opportunity to have a hybrid format. Have a great month!
